Your character no longer fails to load on a bad connection. A download that drops is tried again until it arrives, so the character screen and the loading screen don't get stuck.
The character screen shows how much of your character has loaded, and tells you when your connection is having trouble.
Your character shows up sooner: the body loads first, faces and hair after.
If the game itself fails to download after you log in, the page reloads and tries again instead of hanging.
Guide and tutorial
New lessons: learning a technique at the Arms Master, buying and riding a horse at the stablemaster, and casting a spell.
"Who is who" now teaches box select.
Updates warn you first
When an update goes out you get 20 seconds' warning: a countdown on screen and a big orange alert in chat, on every tab.
The game reloads by itself once the server is back.
Getting in
The login screen now explains itself: if you're new, pick an account name and a password and you'll make your character next; if you've played before, use the same name and password.
On a phone or tablet, the game now gives you a button to send yourself the link for when you're at a computer, plus links to our Discord and subreddit.
Privacy
While you play, the game now tells our server how it's running for you: your frame rate, your connection quality, your time zone and how far you are through the tutorial. No names are attached. It shows us where the game runs badly and where new players get stuck, so we can fix it. Details are in the Privacy Policy, section 2.8.
